We'll be there at about 8am. Seems like they closed the mountain section due to the heavy rains they had. Lotsa water on the trail!

    Hi Bob!

Thanks for a real fun day at Berakah on Sunday. Was amazed to see what my ML55 AMG (Silver Sparrow) can do! I have to admit, my nerves was FINISHED with some of those obsticles, but after you and your Landy (Black Eagle) showed us how its done, it made things a lot earlier Attached are some pics of the day...

    Cheers!

The water was higher,it rained on and off the whole of the night before and our day drive. Most of the trails were now streams.
My BIL tried out his Freelander on Berakah, after the first really nearly vehicle damage,we gave it up for the day,it was getting dark as well. But what a very capable machine, I was so impressed we're going to get one as our 'platkar'.
The next day wasn't easy,we'de left the Freelander at camp and took on the Otter Slide(Toyota Trap) it was a lot deeper, the Disco belly flopped into the 'swamp' and churned its way out, then we had hardly any steering along the path-there's a few very narrow gaps between the trees which need careful steering at the best of times, luckily the tyres just followed the ruts-almost. We had to hold our breaths a few times. We then met up with a Merc ML AMG,got chatting and Frans then followed us,taking our lines and advice-HOLD ON!
We then met up with a Cruiser which was newish,he joined us just before the Merc got held up on a ascent after a river crossing, snatch stap utilised-very effective, but Frans had enough. But to get him to a escape/short route home we had to go through more obstacles then another river crossing. I thought he'de done it,but as he surfaced from the water a large plastic cover came tumbling out from underneath the Merc, there was then no hesitation,he went home. But Frans did extremely well, his poor swambo looked terrified half the time, they cant be married as a wife would have made him stop after the first obstacle.
The Cruiser and myself then went for the mountain view trail which leads to Rhino Challenge,we turned back last time,it was rough, not a lot of 'road' left, but we did it,the V8 grumbling along in 1st low difflock. Had a look at Rhino Challenge-one day....
So all thats left for me at Berakah is snow-test passed(My humble opinion)
NOT REALLY-I THINK MY MACHINE IS INCREDIBLE

Grrrrrr x2... We were there on he 21/12 and although wet, I would have killed for it to be like that. Was the top section still closed? We went with a Hilux that broke it's front diff half way and we had to turn back. I love that place. Have done to 4 time (3 and half) and don't see when I will have had enough.

    Nice pics, thanks for sharing.

Top section was closed but we went up through the exit up to the Rhino Challenge, then the Landcruiser guy wanted to go back-he had wife and 2 kids with him. But the trail was excellent, the 'normal' trail was very demanding, lots of slippy rocks and roots, the dirt was mud.Battled a bit with a broken toe so it wasn't easy clambering around in the rain, but I had a real good time.Very green as well-a pleasure to drive through. When do you want to go to Berakah-before the rain ends? I'm commited to Chloorkop this sunday, join us there?
