    Hi Les,

Dead centre is Rooihoek, the ECNC camp site. Stunning spot, bad baboons. Get a copy of the Peter Slingsby map (www.themaps.co.za) - shows all the accommodation with contact numbers. There are lots of options. Also look at www.baviaans.co.za
The Eastern Cape guys would know, but AFAIK Geelhoutbos is closed.

Les, I'm not sure in your neck of the woods. Cape Union Mart stock them down here, otherwise order one directly from Peter off his website. Outdoor Warehouse and other outdoor shops should stock them. Otherwise give Peter or Maggie a call on 021 seven eight eight 4545 and they'll be able to tell you where to buy them. Their email is issues(at)themaps(dot)co(dot)za

If you do camp at Rooihoek, do not leave any food out, not even in your tent. The baboons will rip open your tent to get at it. Also some vervets around, but they are less aggressive.

My wife and me stayed at Doornkloof just on the Willomore side of the kloof in January and had a fantastic time. No problems with baboons but there is a few monkeys around.

Geelhoutbos is a disaster. The place is in complete ruins which is a real shame. It is obvious from the ruins that there used to be a well run and beautiful site.

Will I be able to tow and ordinary trailer up to there?

Yes, an ordinary trailer will go through IF it's not overloaded and does not have 10" wheels. I agree about Dooringkloof, magic. Try and stay away from the "state" run camp sites, the private ones are not very much more expensive and offer great camping, most have electricity as a bonus.

    Les,

We found a farm with a tree house and single private camp site about 60km into the Baviaans from the Willowmore side - you can pm me if you are interested in further contact details.
