    Default Best Route from Gauteng

    Hi all

We're heading off to Moz and Kosi. I recently heard of some severe delays due to road work related STOP-GO controls after Piet Retief. Can somebody that's bee there in the last week or 2 please confirm.

    Many thanks

Have not been there in the last two weeks, but end September and the 100km between PR and Pongola took at least 2 hours!

If you have 4wd and are heading south towards Ponta, etc. I would drive to Nelspruit and go to Maputo and then south toward Ponta.
I have met some crazy people. They have made me their leader...

    Hi Coi

Had some aqaintences that went week before last, missed the border closing time due to the roadworks.

They (the roadworks) are still there, try Standerton, Volksrust, Utrecht, Vryheid, after Vryheid take R69, a little zig on the R66 and then right onto the R69 again (last 30km is dirt, but good, comes out on the N2 just a short way from the Jozini turn off.

There are also some roadworks, but nowhere close to the N2 issues
