Thanks everyone, Still just have to do the bolting down part but having some trouble getting the 5/16 bolts will do some more shopping today if I get a chance. Then it is starting with the trailor basically a complete rebuild on the chassis side fitting 15" wheels on a venter type,

Default Done before.... but tribute to Ore

Not being as ambitious (yet) as Skim with his great drawer system, thought I'd try my version of the Orerak...

Not metal friendly so wood it had to be... 9mm ply, strengthened by 22X44 meranti rebated frame... glued & screwed....8mm dowels position & seat the two halves and two clips fitted underneath to do the hold-fast bit...Bit of carpeting and "O" fastner tingamajigs to hold down 2 X 4 ammo crates and presto!

Just got to find & fit the webbing/clips and should be ready to go...beside the tie-downs, ammo crates will be held in position on the board by small black stoppers at each corner.

Thanks again Ore for the inspiring idea!

Here's a pic of my board that I had made this week. The seats have been removed and I'll change this design as I go along. I'm no 100% sure what exactly I need at this stage so I'll perfect it as I go.
I want to build this, but how is that board fixed to the Jimny

You can use the bolts for back seats - just counter sink them into the board. Thats what I done. No rattles are shakes, even when driving on the ruff stuff

    More Bertie

    Lekker dag

Ek vind die nuwe jimny se sitplekke slaan platter af as myne so my rak si so bietjie hoŽr as joune maar alles het sover mooi uitgewerk ek is besig om diet nou oor te trek . Ek het aan die anderkant ook gedink as ek die eenkant se ruglening af haal dan kan ek daardie plek ook gebruik.

    Talking

I squezed the following in the jimny:

    5man campmaster tent
    2 x children camp chair
    2 x adult camp chairs
1 x small camp table (roll up type) + tv tray
    bag with clothing
    cooler bag + kettle
    vanity bag for swambo
    2 x kiddies sleeping bags + pillows
    1 x double sleeping bag
    blow up mattrasses
    swing ball

Would be easier with roofrack, then I can at least bring ground sail with and my own firewood.
