    Default Losing mud flaps

Since I got my 07 Hilux three months ago I have completely lost the front left mud flap and the left rear one is only hanging on by two of the four screws.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Mudflaps don't last if you do any kind of semi serious 4x4ing....on most modern 4x4's. Took all mine off and stored them for the day I sell the bakkie after one got slightly damaged. If you do take yours off, a few pieces of carefully positioned VPS might be a good idea to prevent stone chips.

The rear passenger side on the Hilux is prone to breaking off. I broke mine off 3times and eventually just left it off. take a look at how many hiluxs are missing theirs.

The Hilux ones come off easily (they are very long) but goes back up easily as well. Mine has come off and everytime they do they just pull off in the same way (rip through the mudflap).

The only thing is to find them every time and put them back again. This happens on Monday mornings at work, clean the car and re-attach mudflap.

    Default Flap

Since you mostly loose them on trails, one of our club members (Swifty) had this brilliant idea, when doing a trail he just lift them up:

    2012 Touareg 4.2 V8 Diesel.

    Cool Re: Losing mud flaps

    Good day all,

I cant loose any flaps cause 4x4 does not have nice 4x4 big flaps....
Brings me to the question: Where in South Africa can you buy such flaps like the one shown in the picture?
(all I can find on google is amazon etc).

Any customized flaps up for grabs?

    Thanks

    Sjoe...old thread.

On THIS thread you can see the ones Maniac 4x4 did for me back in 2012 on the Vigo Hilux I had. The chains was a bit much but prevented the flap from ending up under the wheel and being ripped off...

Below I did myself on the FJ to protect my Bush Lapa from further stone damage.

I use rubber floor mats and hang them down from brackets fixed into the existing mounting holes.
You can get oversized mud flaps from truck spares outlets.
If you need music in the bush or on the beach, you’re missing the point.
