Default Night drive @ berakah is on!!!

Thanks to Senna,Berakah night drive is back on!!! That's the Friday 31st October,2009. I have to go there tomorrow to work out a route with the owners of Berakah, they want to close some of the dangerous parts for the night drive and there are other conditions which I will get and post tomorrow.
Then we can do it again during the day,so get your tents aired, charge your batteries and lets go!
I was thinking of starting the trail at about 8pm to give guys a chance leaving from work?
Apparently they are employing a lifesaver in case the Chimes guys come
Thanks again Senna, you've gotta be in sales?

Great! Maybe you should post a list of everyone going so we know who's coming ?

    It's Friday 30th!! NOT 31st,
Posting a list of participants later, waiting for replies, but so far there are 15 vehicles, not too bad,I know Berakah can accomodate 40 under normal conditions. Where are the Jeeps?

Pleasure,it went a bit downhill after it was cancelled, but now its back on and there's still time to organise properly. I'm contacting the 4x4/outdoor magazines-see if they want to do a editorial, they did Berakah in the last issue of Drive out,so I'm trying to get the journalist Peter Levey who wrote it to come! Anybody know him, I'm sure he's got a Community sticker on his Landie back window?

Went to Berakah today for a 'meeting', everything is fine, they are looking forward to it. There are a couple of conditions but all to do with safety and the enviroment, anybody drunk or unruly during the night drive is OFF! Keys taken away!Any brakedown or getting seiously stuck to be recovered during daylight, but it is perfectly safe at the farm(Berakah).Keep your rubbish to yourself. The more dangerous parts of the course will be taped off, that's concern for us and our vehicles-there are a few technical narrow parts. No mountain view trail at night or bushy trail(see attached map-the ringed parts)Start time of the trail is 8.45 for 8.00pm,then the trail is closed,if you're too late-start the braai. We are to go in one group with Andre the owners son leading, he reckons it should take about 3 hours stopping at points. There is half moon that night,Andre reckons when its full moon you don't need lights! We need 3 volunteers with offroad experience to marshall at his direction,we can do a relay system? THATS IT! Please bring on any questions but on this thread please so all can see. Cheers for now

I will speak to a friend of mine Bob. He goes out with me a lot and has also had training, although he doesnt have a 4x4.
He might be a good man for the job!
