Try user and user as the username and password, I also see the trans union site is now asking for a password again, anyone know this one?

Here's a new one. The value on my car was pretty close to what I expected, but their estimated value on my mom's Atos was on the high-side.

    Default Value of older cars

After checking out the links in this thread I did not come right.
Either the vehicles are too old or I could not access the sites.
If someone can help I would appreciate it.

    1) Mercedes Benz 1991 230E with about 300k km's
    2) BMW 318 is 1997 with 111k km mint condition.

    Thank you in advance.

    Cool

    Touareg pricing:
Your 2005 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG 5.0 V10 TDI TIPTRONIC with a mileage of 148000km has an estimated book value of:

    R429,008

The estimated trade in value of your car is between:
    R346,424 - R382,890

The estimated retail value of your car is:
    R468,691 - R518,027

If that is realistic - then I am looking for a buyer - will also sell below estimated trade....

Here's an up-to-date calculator that works well. It adjusts for mileage & condition like the others.

I just tried this. Says my GV is worth R280k. Dealers won't give me more than R180k though even the book value is R230k...

Default Reserve Bank MPC Meeting: Likely Interest Rate Decision???

    Hi Guys,

This is a request for advice for a decision i have to make on Monday next week. Im about to sign a bank financing deal for a car I want to buy and I have an offer of 9% fixed interest rate from Wesbank. |Problem is the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Reserve Bank is only going to meet in two weeks' time and I wont know if interest rates will remain the same or be cut until after I have signed the bank financing agreement.

So anyone wants to speculate what the MPC is likely to do? Is it likely to cut the rate? If so, by how much possibly (0.5 basis point? 1 basis point?). Should I try to push the bank to 8.5% fixed interest? What are my chances of getting Wesbank to better the offer to 8.5%, or should I just take the offer and sign on Monday and hope the MPC wont reduce the rate?

Or, alternatively should I take a variable interest rate and hope the rates will stay low for a long time? I know there are Economists here or very knowledgeable people/financial experts and even people with friends in the banking industry - please help with some informed speculation on which way the MPC is likely to go, and also on whether I have a snowball's chance in hell of pushing Wesbank to offer a better rate offer - 8.5%.

    thanks.

It seems that prime may drop 0.5 at some stage, one bank predicting that this will only happen early next year.

Yes I think they are a bit optimistic for some vehicles

I doubt that I could get R250000+ for 07 Subaru forester 2.5XT in any condition
    2007 Subaru Forester 2.5XT
Forester nutter here so watch out
