    Default Patrol fuel consumption

    Hi

Am looking at purchasing a 4.5 or 4.8 Patrol, and would like to know what the fuel consumption on these beasts are? I know that most of you will answer "with all that HP it's irrelevant", but would like to know none the less.

    Thanks

You can expect anything between 18l/100km and 30l/100km. Most guys seem to get around the 20l/100km range. If you are careful and add a freeflow exhaust and chip you may be getting as low as 17l/100km.

My 1998 4.5 GRX averages 5 km/l or 20l/100km. My experience over the past 6 years with this particular vehicle is that I seldom get better fuel consumption and towing a small Echo 1 trailer also does not affect consumption to much.

    Hi Chris,

My consumption after fitting the Dastek Chip:

    @ 120km/h open road - 7km/l
    @ 130km/h '' '' - 6.8km/l
    Towing the Echo 3 @ 130km/h - 5km/l
    Town driving - 4.8km/l

    Cheers
    Albert.

Thanks guys. Sounds better than 100 series cruisers where the answer is usually "5km / l, always" - or does that open the whole "cruiser / patrol" can of worms again :-)
