    Default Suzuki 4x4 Club

Richard has been working at away behind the scenes for a while.

On Sunday 6 September 2009 a group of Suzuki's gathered at Wiesenhof, for the first get to gether of this new club.

A truly mixed breed showed up:
    - 4x4 "newbies"
    - a few that have done "some 4x4 riding" before
    - some that have had "other 4x4's" in the past
    - both dealerships in the Western Cape was well represented.

We quickly started inspecting each other's cars .... I drooled over the 215/75 All Terrain tires on some of the Jimny's. The one gent had a novel idea for packing and stacking his ammo boxes .....

Then we headed of on the ride up to the view point. Some drinks and chatting at the view point and some new friendships were formed.

Down to the dam for some hot dogs.

We now headed out to the Landdrover training route. Some "entusiastic participants" enjoyed a steep downhill. (in truth the downhill was fine, just the HIGH middel mannetjie ....) Those on the 215 tires managed it, the 205 tires scraped the bumper on the middelmannetjie ....

Then we did the actual training route - FUN !! In fact so much fun that a few even did a few of these obsticals the wrong way round for even more fun ...... (the pictures WILL tell the story)

Richard, Kristin and dealers THANKS for a very FUN DAY !!!

    Cool

    THANKS FOR THAT CHRIS!!!

A BIG THANK YOU to all those who participated today. A great deal of fun was had by all.

A little confusion on arrival at the gate was quickly cleared up as we headed up to the trail as quite a large contingency. The trail was a little rougher than expected, having had so much rain but no mishaps and everyone arrived at the viewpoint smiling. Most of the time we were engaged in low range 2 as we happily chugged up.

Cool drinks awaited us at the top (Thanks SUZUKI PAROW AND SUZUKI HELDERBERG) and we all had a chance to chat and mingle. The view was stunning but some ominous clouds before chilly winds sent us back down again.

The weather improved once we were down the mountain and the sun even made a bit an appearance. We had a few speeches and a lucky draw while everyone tucked into their hot dogs. Lucky YOU to those that got caps, T-shirts and the trophy mug went to Paul and Ronelle for their ingenious 'back rack' system. Once again a BIG thank you to SUZUKI PAROW AND HELDERBERG for sponsoring hot dogs and prizes.

Then came a play session on the Land Rover training course where we were able to have a bit of fun on some challenging obstacles. This gave us all a space to build our confidence and was great for getting to know each other and our cars.

We are planning to have get-togethers on the first Sunday of every month. Details to follow. Please e-mail [email protected] for more info and to subscribe to the monthly newsletter. Membership is free!

The following pics show what we experienced on this lovely day.

The "spectacular" photo's shows what these vehicles are capable of. These were either done by well trained dealers, or some experienced owners. NO newbies were pressured into pushing their vehicles past its (drivers) limits !!
