The ATF cooler is in the radiator's bottom tank.
Replace / repair radiator and have transmission flushed and refilled with ATF - don't drive it before you do it!!!!

Hi guy's, just wondered if anyone has experienced the same thing and can maybe offer some conclusive advice...?
2001 Pajero 3.5GLS AT Transmission fluid ends up as a red murky bubbling fluid overflowing from the Radiator water container. Apparently I need a new radiator but surly the AT oil cooler is a separate item?
How does the transmission fluid end up in the water system..?
Help..!

It is a recurring problem on the older Audi A4's. As per 4ePajero's advice, the radiator goes, the water and ATF mix, and, on the Audi, the water contaminates the PAPER clutches in the ZF gearbox, causing them to swell and, eventually, stick. What gearbox does the Pajero use?
I am not a complete idiot - there are still some parts missing
