Need some oppinions please .
My Defender TD5 past away. It was a 2000 model. How feasable would it be to put a Disco II TD5 engine into the Defender. I can get a Disco TD5 with 50 000km for about 30-35k. Rebuilding the Def TD5 engine is also not cheap.
Do you foresee any issues. Sensors, ECU etc ?
Any oppinions appreciated

In the Disco the TD5 pulls a little more power . How ?
Mostly ECU mapping. The Disco TD5 has a different wastegate management system - simple to convert.
There will be compatibility issues if a Defender ECU is used with the Disco engine.
Not a train smash - just get another ECU if necessary.
Go for it.

Thanks Dave, This does give one some sort of "comfortable feeling". The 35K include the Disco's ECU so that should be fine, but will the ECU "understand" that there is no T/C ABS etc..
Appology for silly questions but I a complete novice when it comes to these things...
Should be no problem wrt ABS etc , after all many Disco 2 ' s no longer have ABS...
