    Dankie

If there's someone who will know, it will be TTT, I know he is pretty up to date with the CT regulations and have researched it extensivly.

    Speaking from memory.

There is a R5 monthly meter fee that gets added. So not an issue

There is a bi-directional meter that you must buy R6000 for single phase.

You need to apply as a complete new SSEG application which may cost you some money.

There must be a physical disconnect box outside your property so that they can manually disconnect your house if they need to do work etc. Cost is not that much but probably a few thousand depending on complexity.

application is through the online portal and if you have a decent installer is pretty straightforward.

So the math is, if you spend R10 000 to get it done, how long till you pay it back vs buying a 3/4th battery.

    Thanks.

Summed up nicely what Quicksilver said.

    What one could add:
When you run the grid-tied inverter flat-out to earn income, good idea to factor in a earlier replacement costs just in case.

I concur 100% with what Prof said:

    Political Correctness
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional illogical minority, rabidly promoted by a unscrupulous mainstream media which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd ... by the clean end!

Saw this in a pub - no idea why the wife does not see it so:
I'm not opinionated ... I'm just always right!

If I was installing a brand new build today, in CoCT. I would opt for a grid feedback. Just to have it done and done.

If you have an existing installation, the schlep of getting it done doesn't seem worth it.
