    Default 2 or 3 day 4x4 Trails

    Hi all

Im looking for a 2 or 3 day trail to take my 80yr old family member on, we travelled extensively in Southern Africa together many years ago and he would love to do one last little getaway

Mabua was always our favourite but his passport expires in 7th November this year so that is out as it will only be valid for 5 months at most when we go

Thought of Lebombo in Kruger(we did together probably 18yrs ago) but no over 65 allowed
Looking at the Mafunyane 4x4 from Phalaborwa to Punda but waiting to hear if the age limit applies as well to this trail

Anybody got any other suggestions, would need to be booked on pretty short notice, within next couple weeks

    Thanks

Marakele 4x4 Eco-trail is another option.

We did it in 2022. Our thread and short trip report of it link is below:

Thanks, see you did it in a Jimny

That's what we would be using but I still have standard suspension ?

I think it will be ok on the trip. You might have to get a little creative on some lines you choose.

We had no issues on the trip at all, however we were running a Des Sol 50mm lift and 235/75R15 tyres.

The 65year age limit for SANParks is not a problem if you have a doctors letter certifying that one is fit to travel

Nevermind the paper work. That can easily be fixed With the elderly it is not the paperwork holding things back... Rules are there for a reason and have been born out of bad experiences Been there, done that and never again want to go thru that experience... At 80+ even a simple fall can turn into a nightmare

If you need music in the bush or on the beach, you’re missing the point.

Tankwa. It is visually fantastic, and good for the soul.

No people, no noise, no outside light.

You can camp at two different spots for a three day trip.
