    Default Diesel Shortage

    Hi All,

I am working in Moz at present. We have been warned that there is/will be a diesel shortage. I have all ready helped out a caravan of 7 South African vehicles that ran out of diesel. Do not assume you will get diesel outside of Maputo or Beira.

    Cheers.

Mozambique: Fuel Companies Go On Strike
Despite government promises that they will be compensated for the difference between Mozambican and international fuel prices, private fuel companies have begun to go on strike, reducing the amount of diesel and petrol sent to filling stations in the Maputo area. On Sunday, filling stations owned by BP, Total and Galp in Maputo and the neighboring city of Matola were all running out. Only the state-owned fuel company Petromoc refused to join the strike. The government has abandoned its former policy of reviewing oil prices every month, and, instead, has pledged to maintain the current prices until the end of the year. The distribution companies protest that the international fuel prices have risen substantially in recent months and that they will not continue to supply fuel if the Mozambican government does not raise domestic prices. Hi
I believe the situation has returned to normal? Spoke to People in Vilanculos and Bilene today.
However, can someone please let me know whether the price of Diesel has changed? We are leaving on Saturday Morning.
    Regards

I have received deliveries of diesel this week. I see all the long haul trucks are running today as well, so there is diesel available. I have not received any indication of a price increase. (sorry, I buy in bulk so don't know the price at the pumps)
