It will be mostly for tour operators with nearby campsites….

Oh sorry about that..we only have early August ,both Ihaha and Xakanaxa for August 2025

Eish! Not nice to have trip go pear shaped!
I have never been to Thobolos, but saw the turn-off to it a few times...It is in proper wilderness area and I suppose with it's waterhole it would attract some game, I would however not think it will be anything remotely comparable to Ihaha! It is also not an "easy" drive to Chobe NP - quite a distance - ...
Comparing Thobolos to Muchenje Campsite is also not anything that will fly, since they would be vastly different from one another. I see Muchenje at most as a transit camp. Relatively closer to Chobe entrance gate at the border post...and the river front, but you ARE basically camping next to a road...that could be quite busy...
I would als explore possibilities in Savuti/Linyanti ..
Your agent did not do you any favours...Ihaha is simply magical in my opinion.

Thinking about Namibia/Caprivi....What about Nkasa Rupara...Last time I was there it was immensely dry...not much game about at the time...(spent a few nights at Jackallberry Tented Camp)...but now I wonder if it is not back to normal....Only saw and heard nice things about it...You can even arrange for a private boat trip on the Linyanti/Chobe river...There are camping facilities available
