What Roelf said in terms of food.... Most overnight places are good. I've stayed at "The Island" (just before shark island) previously, and also some guest house in town. But can not remember the name of the second place.

Stayed at the Cormorant House a few years ago. Very good and secure parking.

We have stayed at Alte Villa B&B several times run by a very nice lady named Chris. Comfortable rooms, nice breakfast, great location and views, quiet. Would always be our go-to in Luderitz.

agree re the Portuguese fisherman. Not the best in terms of other choices for restaurants IMHO. Alte villa also serves dinner and it was good.

I stayed in Luderitz for 4 nights in Dec 2023 as part of a Namibia trip. The rest of the trip was camping but in Luderitz my little tent would have been blown away even with me inside it.

    Stayed at Element Riders:

in one of the rooms without an en-suite. All was clean and neat and I could have some washing washed at a reasonable cost too.

I ate at Portuguese Fisherman on a Sunday afternoon and had a nice meal (I think it was Kingklip; apparently they always have something on special). Other seafood meals looked nice too.

My favourite, though, was Essenzeit, with a view of the "harbour"/waterfront. Had an eisbein one night and a seafood platter another night. Due to stringent budget limitations I don't usually eat out when travelling but couldn't resist going back to this one. Also Heineken draught seemed to be in good supply at about R30 if I remember correctly.

I've had a look at our last Namibia holiday WhatsApp group. It brought back wonderful memories. I see the wife and I had booked into Wildhorses B & B. We had a nice unit with a balcony with a view and secure parking.
