Wood supply Phalaborwa - Kruger Gate

Can anyone recommend a place to buy wood before going into Kruger at the Phalaborwa gate?
The Letaba Park Shop is now R50 for a small bag of wet wood...

There is a Spar and a Tops on the right just before the gate. We bought there in November when we headed through for a few days. Cannot remember if I bought the wood at Spar or Tops as we had some things to get in both stores, but they will presumably have the same wood. A little more pricey than I normally pay in Pretoria, but it was good wood. Just do not buy wood next to the road in Harties (or anywhere, actually).

Bought some fantastic hard wood for R22/bag at the Viva petrol station in Gravelotte two weeks back.

I bought wood at that Spar last week, it was cheap at R26 a bag, it was wet and kark wood. I'm not sure exactly what wood it was, but definitely not hard wood, With 2 bags I struggled to get enough coals to braai a pack of sosaties and braaibroodjies. I checked and the Tops had the same wood.

The wood sold in the park shops, though also wet actually did better, but it's R50 for a small bag.

I came to the conclusion, if you don't have space to take along your own proper wood to KNP, then it will actually be better to just braai using charcoal (spit).

Definitely Gravelotte if you're travelling that way.

Excellent wood for reasonable price.

Where do you buy in Gravelotte? I normally buy from my local NTK but sometimes I find it a bit below par.
