Mine sometimes shows unable activated or something similar
Without any messages on screen, I've never seen this
My biggest cruise control gripe is not holding a speed
|
Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with the cruise control on my GWM P Series. Here’s what I’ve noticed:
- The cruise control won’t engage when I press the button or set the speed.
- There are no error messages or warning lights on the dashboard.
- I haven’t had any recent mechanical work done except for routine servicing.
So far, I’ve tried the following troubleshooting steps:
- Checked the cruise control switch to make sure it’s not stuck or malfunctioning.
- Verified that the brake lights are functioning properly, as I understand this can affect cruise control.
- Inspected the fuses and wiring around the cruise control system for any visible issues.
Has anyone else faced a similar issue with the GWM P Series? Could it be a problem with the cruise control module, a faulty sensor, or something else entirely?
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your help.![]()

What km round about did it stop working?
Can you go into the cruise control mode, just not activate it?
But no havent heard of this before. Try a post on FB https://www.facebook.com/groups/2026...=CHRONOLOGICAL

1st make sure you're in "normal" cruise control mode (1st option) not Traffic Jam Assist mode (second option). The "Unable to activate" happens in TJA mode when it can't find the necessary inputs from the ADAS system to do the automatic traffic following.
To the OP, when you say CC won't engage, do you mean you (a) cannot activate the CC (i.e. the "Cruise" button does not work) or (b) you can choose the correct CC mode with the "Cruise" button, but the system does not function when you press the "Set" button?
Quite scuffed with figures today from Gauteng to Colesberg.
+600kms at 14.4L/100km - the G towing the +2300kg UEV25. At speedocruise set on 100km/h where possible...
The first time these figures came up. Usually between 16-18. I believe the removal of the DPF an subsequent mapping did the trick.

Old VW problem.
I did the following checks to solve the problem on my Polo's. Brake switch and clutch switch, both will disengage the Cruse control.
I disconnect the battery, both terminals and put a 12v globe in the 2 battery cables to drain the system. Replacing the brake switch solve the problem..

Have never had one of our cars not activate the cruise control at all, so am going back to basics first.
on the LS, you have to turn on the cruise control functionality before you can set the speed you want to drive. You do this by pushing the "CRUISE" button on the right hand side of the steering wheel. This button also turns off the cruise control functionality. "CANCEL" just disengages the cruise control, much like applying the brake or changing gear does.
Once the "Cruise" button is pushed to activate the cruise control system, you should get the GREEN cruise control indictor showing on your dashboard. (Top left of the display.) Once that is showing you can then set the speed.
Does your car activate the control functionality?
