    Hi all,

1st of all thanks for having me! My name is Kip I am a Texan (yes we are different than Americans ) and after 20+ years of visiting SA I can tell ya Texans and SA people are about as closely related as any 2 groups I have ever seen.

My wife and I fell in love with South Africa after visiting in 1999 and have manged to come back for vacation about every 2 years since then. We loved staying at the different fancy lodges but really enjoyed driving ourselves even more. So in 2023 we decided what the heck let's self drive parts of Botswana, how hard could it be LOL?? Suprisingly not that bad BUT we both managed to pick of the flu prob COVID but i didnt test and a great case of food poisoning, that made me feel like I was turned inside out like a sock. Our trip was cut short and I feel like we got cheated out of the full experience, se we are doing it again this September.

I joined this site because I am hoping there are folks who have done this and I can learn some tricks and gather information to make my experience better. I think that covers us and why I am here but if yall have any questions please feel free to write.

Thanks again and looking forward to meeting folks

    Kip
