    Default Spare wheel on bumper

I'm considering moving my spare onto a bumper carrier, and using the spare wheel well to fit an auxillary fuel tank.
Has anyone done this and how has it worked out.
I'm particlarly keen for comments on the bumper carrier for the spare wheel.
    Cheers
    Alan

    Hi Alan
I have completed my spare wheel carrier last week with the same objective of fitting an aux tank.
Fitting a spare wheel to the bumper I cannot see any reason not to as the rear bumper inner of the Disco 3 is really tuff (think its 3 or 4mm thick with inner supports)

Iíve manufactured mine myself as I could not get exactly what I was looking for (I know Front Runner is making one for the Disco3)
    Reasons for doing it myself:
I want to remove the spare wheel carrier when itís not needed (still having a spare under the Disco or a spare on the roof) and if I remove the carrier I want to fit two grommets and the modification to the bumper should not be visible.
Secondly I what to fit a bicycle carrier for 4 bicycles to the spare wheel carrier...
Thirdly, wanted something that looks the part and that even Mama can open.

I am seeing more and more D3's with spare wheel carriers and then fitting long range tanks, but I have wondered if it is good for the rear axle to carry that extra weight of the spare wheel right behind the rear axle?

Will it not cause damage in the future?
