    Default Toyota Tundra

I watched another video on a Toyota Tundra and I would love to own one. I know they're coming into Australia through Toyota themselves with the help of a local company to do the conversion.

A year ago I got pricing on getting a brand new one. To get it here at the harbour already converted to right hand drive was a little more expensive than a new 300 which I thought was fair but, getting it through customs and paying taxes is extra and my problem which makes sense but does anyone know what the process and costs are?

Think they are very nice bakkies. When my brother were in the States in 2014 he had the 5.7l V8. According to him it were the best vehicle he have ever owned.
In 2011 I tried to import a v8 Ranger Raptor. Its price were more than double if I could land it here with all the duties. In the end I just gave up with all the red tape involved.

Maybe contact a company like US Trucks, they specialize in importing and converting the RAM, but might be able to help.

I just got a Toyota Tundra. Coming from a Landcruiser 79 D/C, its a world apart. No 79's in Canada. Only big Toyota trucks here are gas engined Tundra's. Very smooth and have plenty of power. About 390 hp. I think its the same motor as the L/C 300.

I got the 5.5 foot bak. Easier to drive around town than the 6.5. So far, i love it.

Agreed! If only RHD markets were big enough to justify production of RHD Tundras

I moved to the states just over 2 months ago. Test drove all the big trucks, and I'd rate them as follows:

    6. Nissan Titan
    5. Ram 1500
    4. Chev Silverado
    3. Toyota Tundra
    2. GMC Sierra
    1. Ford F150

The Tundra is very nice, but the Ford still came out tops for me. I got the Powerboost one (3.5 twin turbo V6 with electric supplementary motor)

I wanted to avoid the complexity of the hybrid/electrical systems and the issues around the GMC fuel pump reliability. Toyota seems to have resolved the 3.3 engine manufacturing defect and had a higher reliability rating here. Ford also seems to have a premium "tax", on the more luxurious products. Also my friends F350 got quite easily stolen with a Key fob replicator, so was a bit wary. Its all subjective, really. They're all great trucks. In the end i preferred the Toyota.

Driving back from Mkhuze today, had two of these pass me, then fill up just outside Empangenii, pass me again later. They look damned good. I never thought I'd say that about any Merkin car. Saw a Tundra in Ballito 3 weeks ago, also lekker but huge. Parked at Lifestyle, just couldn't fit in the parking, but I didn't take a good look (forgive me father, I know I sinned).

And I'd never buy one, even if I won the lotto. If I won R100 million, I'd confirm your testicular fortitude by buying you one...

Funny, but only people who dont really know US trucks prefer the Ram.
The Ram actually plays second(or fifth fiddle when it come to US trucks.
None of the working American working class buy them.
On the farms and in US construction,…the F series reign supreme.

Toyota doesnt really offer anything in the Heavy/Super duty category……

Saw one fitted out at Huntex, next to a fitted out 79, and it made the 79 look small in comparison. These trucks are huge.

Your point is noted and true, but the Tundra is heavy/super duty enough for me and I am going to be presumptive and say for most others on this forum as well
