    Default Matswere Gate Camping

CKGR first timer here -will be travelling with 2 kids (10+13).
Is the late arrival Matswere gate camp a decent option to spend the night? What do gate staff consider to be a late arrival? What time do they want you there to safely reach Kori? I tried to book CKWIL-09 with BWNP but they say it doesn’t exist!

Will be Travelling from the South and trying to figure out whether pushing into the park, camping at gate or staying in Rakops is best option!

All feedback from experienced hands much appreciated.

We camped at the gate on two occasions when arriving too late to reach our booked sites. They were quite happy for us to do so, but we did have a booking at another site in the park for that night.

This was however more than a few years ago, so I don't know it's still allowed.

Try booking Kukama (CKWIL-08), which is about half way between Matswere gate and Deception Valley. I understand it is more ment for tour operators (Hatab site?), but we were assigned to it a couple of years ago, when they messed our Kori booking. It has absolutely no facilities, but is just lovely.

It is about 10 km further SW from CKWIL-09.
24 hours in a day.... 24 beer in a case.... Coincidence?
