Chevy Trailblazer 2.8 Diesel - is it worth considering?
Hi all,
I am considering getting a 2013-2015 Chevy Trailblazer with max 120k km... Looking at a few vehicles on the market but would like to get some forum input/feedback please.
Are there any known issues with the 2.8D Trailblazers that a potential buyer should be aware of?
With Chevy out of the country, what is the availability of mechanical and/or body parts?
Do the Trailblazers achieve high mileage without any major failures (provided correct maintenance is performed regularly, of course)
Any general feedback from the Trailblazer experts/owners would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
harubo

They are great car's and inherently reliable - but let down buy less mechanics who work on them. If you have a chev mechanic around, or someone who works on them, then it is a great vehicle to have.
I still prefer my TB to other SUV's
Isuzu/REEDS spares are overpriced though and put me off Isuzu actually but maybe all the companies are like that when cars get older (with overpriced spares). Having said that, seems like Chevvy parts companies are around, and also spares shops supply most consumables.

Thanks for the quick response, I appreciate it.
I‘m planning on doing maintenance myself so hope that parts availability doesn’t get In the way 🙈.

That is perfect. they are easy cars to maintain and lots of youtube videos on what to do (they were also sold in Thailand and Oz). and the gearbox and 2.8 engine are also found in yank cars as well.
Consumables are easy to obtain ie all filters, brake pads etc. Belt for the 150,000km (or 160k km can't remember recommendation) also easily available, or at most 3 week wait .
NB American Dexos2 oil spec but also available easily (Masterparts always seem to have everthing).
So far I have not had a proble, though seem to remember fender bender meant I needed to replace the bumper and that may have take 3-4 weeks for a new one
