Answering the call of the wild is just so much better than answering the mobile.
Waking up in the morning is a good start. Then remember never ever to cross off the last item on your "bucket list" before first adding at least one more !!

Those that have booked / paid and not yet advised please do so.
Then I can update the list of "participants".
Numbers would also help in deciding what if any additional activities should be considered.

Definitely out, sorry. October always going to be a difficult month with a milestone birthday, friends flying in from Aus, family from around the country.
Have a good time, post pictures please.
(Please update if you expect to attend at Weenen!!!!!)
OK, taking MY OWN thread OT here.....
Believe it or not - In spite of travelling through Southern Africa for very many years in times past, I have never done Sani !!!!
Bucket list here ...
Some Sani Pass questions ...
Is it advisable for me, - [given my very old Suuz (with fuel supply to injectors issues, which NO ONE seems to able to resolve (!!!!??)] and me also being somewhat compromised these days; - To attempt this as an extended weekend trip?
I'm thinking to leave from Pinetown to there and back over a weekend but also possibly midweek maybe.
As in two to three nights away from home.
What accommodation options / costs ? Without trailer, RTT or ground tent, that is.
So looking at more conventional self catering accommodation options and NOTHING fancy.
B&B maybe?
Maybe overnight at the top ?
Advice and info. would be appreciated.
Just ME being ME, OK.
Tx

Yes, you and your Suzi absolutely can do Sani!
Accomodation options are many and varied. Himeville/Underberg has a ton of B&Bs etc incl the good old Himeville Arms. Then there are quite a few along the Sani road too.
There is a forum member with accomodation in the area if my memory serves just outside Himeville. Can't for the life of me remember his or the place name.
Sani top accomodation is good these days, but in my opinion fairly pricey. Then there is Sani Stone Lodge just further in and much more basic. Havent been to either for quite some time.
I ahve stayed at Arbuckle House in the main rd of Himeville & Sani Window in Underberg just off the Himeville rd. Both were well priced and good.

By Mid Oct the SNOW will almost certainly be long gone !!!
Although that has it's own attraction, when camping methinks no snow may just be a tad better ....
See you all there.
Maybe not tooOK.

So now only about 3 weeks away ....
Seems that we may just be a small group unless some have booked and paid without advising ... ?
So I will plan for a small group there - nothing wrong with that, in fact sometimes better.
Seems Graham will be there first. I expect to be there on the Thursday and will depart on the Sunday sometime.
Anyway i am sure we will have a good meet up.
It is a great small nature park as I remember from quite a few years back.
There are campsites still available as far as I know and the prices are VERY fair.
Welcome to join us, but PLEASE just let me know if booked and paid so that I can plan accordingly.
See you all there.![]()
