    Default Namibia eSims

    Good day,

Want to hear if anyone here ever made use of the eSims in Namibia?

If indeed, what brand or company and how did it work for you?

If any suggestion's, please share. I know they will only work here and there, but atleast if one is in a major town you can relay back home.

I googled this a few weeks ago and found two websites that were both specifically recommended for Namibia e-sims.

Both sites showed "out of stock" and I wasn't able to buy one.

Monitoring this thread as I'm going back in October.

I use Airalo when I travel out of Nam. And my SA colleagues use it when coming to Nam, so I know it works.

I've just checked their website again, it's showing all e-sims for Namibia are out of stock.

On my app it shows available?

Edit - app just updated and now it shows out of stock. Strange.

I can second AIRALO. I've used it in many countries, including Iraq & Afgan, works a treat. Could not get it to work in Tajikistan however. They credited my account for that one. But has worked everywhere else I've been.

Also, if you are with Vodacom, they have an International Data package.

    Dial *135*130# --- follow the prompts. 1GB = R99 valid for 7 days.

To stop the service, dial *135*130# follow prompts to OPT out again. Otherwise it will deduct R99 in 7 days again, or if your 1GB runs out. I've also used this numerous times.
You can add it with the MY Vodacom app,
    Open app,
    Select BUY,
    Select International Roaming
    Choose your bundle.

I don't know how to OPT OUT with the APP, hence I said remember to dial the numbers above and make sure it does not continue to go off.

I used Vodacom roaming on a package bought from Vodacom website for a very recent trip.
Mixed success. Main north south routes it worked, but in Swakopmund, for example, no coverage.
Also need to boot the phone up regularly for it to connect.

Overall my impression is that it is a poor show from a company like Vodacom.

Airalo has worked flawlessly for me in Australia and it would have been my first choice had the "out of stock" situation as detailed above not existed.
