New episode is up. We take a break from our behind-the-scenes content to do an unusually useful video. We provide a quick review each of the campsites at Ihaha in the Chobe National Park. We rate each campsite between 1 and 10 and provide some useful tips for camping at Ihaha.

New Botswana 2024 YouTube episode: 'Buffalo Crossing'. We film a massive herd of buffalo crossing the Chobe River before packing up camp in the midday heat and moving to Muchenje Campsite where we enjoy a night in a pre-erected tent. Andy does a room tour while Rob sorts out the drinking water. In the morning Andy enjoys cleaning the dishes in a full-size sink.

Looking forward to the next installment... mainly to see if your experience with the road to Savuti was similar to ours... aka horrendous.

New video is up. We are on our way to Savuti. Along the way we provide you with directions for the best route. Andy makes Rob a coffee on the bumpy road. For a change we don't get stuck and we arrive with time to spare. Hope you enjoy, please like, comment etc.

Great last video We will stay at Muchenje and travel to Savuti in less than a month. Can anyone else comment on the 'direct' road to Ghoha instead of taking the 'main road' to Linyanti? Should we avoid the direct road at all costs?

Last time we took the direct route we got stuck, but it was not terrible. Just soft sand.

We travelled from the south, but I remember the 4-way intersection just north of Ghoha gate.... We went straight as opposed to going left then right on the alternative road

New episode is up: 'Accidental Spoonage': we are setting up camp at Savuti Campsite. After levelling the trailer, we discover that some of our groceries have not survived the rough roads - big mess. We don't want to pitch the entire tent so Rob builds an Andy barrier to prevent accidental spoonage. On our first afternoon drive we find some of the big male lions from the Northern Pride. They kill a warthog in front of us but unfortunately the shot is obscured by the bushes. Hope you enjoy it 👍

New Botswana 2024 YouTube episode: 'An Elephant in our Campsite and Savuti Marsh Pride Lions.' In the morning we film the Marsh Pride male lions. Then Rob films Andy in slow-motion glory. We head back to camp to find an elephant in our new campsite. It takes a long time for him to move and Andy is not impressed. Later we head out and find some more lions.

Thanks again for the videos. Just wish they were +30min

What do you use rubber straps for on the nosecone? Wood? Tie down sacrifices? Tie down Andy?

Thanks. A few people have asked for longer videos, but I am of the opinion that YouTube videos should not be much longer than a healthy bowel movement. That said, once this series is finally over, I may re-edit into a one hour video if I have the time.

The straps are for the big tent - it's usually in the trailer, but I can move it on top of the nosecone if I need more space. And yes they also work for retaining Andy 😂

New YouTube episode: 'A Bird in the Hand'. We find lion tracks but decide to be smart and film the sunrise with a herd of wildebeest and a jackal. We then go back to the Savuti campsite and move from site 6 to 9. Andy digs a hole to level the trailer. On the afternoon drive we play around with using our new DJI Mavic 3 Pro drone as a gimbal to get shots out of the vehicle. Later we find the Northern Pride lions in the Savuti channel and we stay with them until after sunset.

Thanks! Yes it is fantastic. But it has been a bit expensive since they blocked Regional Roam in Botswana and only Global Roam was working. Now that Botswana has come online regional should work again. Will test soon. Only other issue is power draw. Have forgotten it on overnight a couple times and drained my second battery. The new mini looks much better in this regard.

New episode is up. We can't find the lions but we do find a leopard (with some help from the local guides). The leopard has a kill in the base of the tree and we are told she has a cub, but it is quite scared of vehicles so we need to wait a while before it comes out.
