Re: Undertray/ under bak mounting for arb air compressor.
I've always felt that the only reason to pay the extra for an ARB is that it's supposed to be able to take the punishment of being mounted in a vehicle's engine bay and that spares are supposed to be available.
Apart from the risk of full immersion and direct impact, I think the conditions under the load bin are far more forgiving, and the risk of direct impact should be reasonably easily mitigated? As for complete immersion, the engine bay fan distributes water around an engine bay very effectively.
I don't know what filter they use, but a good-quality commercial 5-micron filter and water trap setup is a great way to improve a compressor's life over the common foam-element rubbish most compressors come with, and they are relatively cheap (in fact they will probably cost less than the fittings and tubing needed to fit them).
