    Next best would be your Plan A, following the created track with your GPSr, which directs you back to the actual correct line. The compass method is the worst as you can deviate a long way from the actual direct route without knowing it.
    Get a few friends to help. If you have radios, it helps. Let them hold the poles while directing them from left to right into a straight line. Or phone then each to give directions. Binoculars help to see the last pole.

    Yep, Same here. Lined up the Pole with the wingnut on top of the Air intake pre cleaner and let it eat !
