Apologies, going to have to excuse myself from this. Have an event I need to attend in Newcastle on Saturday, likely staying over and only returning on Sunday.

Have an excellent day out, remember, no pics and it didn't happen.

Still a bit fragile so will not be camping as originally envisaged, however I will attend the day outing.
See you at the meeting point 8am.
Should be a good one and an opportunity to again meet with friends and make new ones.

When you are through the gate you follow the road and will see buildings on your left. You go past then and in from the other side and go to reception to pay etc. Get a map from them and then you can go drive around. The top section normally has some good game and there is a viewing platform. From there you can go down to the river on your right(east) and can go along to the 'hippo' pond and pricess pool if that is still there.
Then come back along the river to the picnic site.
We may go out along the back route past the cave depending on what the road looks like.
See the attached goole earth shot.
green line in red line out. Not set in stone. Can do whatever your heart desires but that is probably the route we will follow.

So meeting at the BP station at 8, we will then travel together to the reception, where we pay and then head off from there in a group and follow the trail departing from reception about 9 with the plan to reach the picnic site by about 11 ish. Is that right?
So bring chairs, table, braai stuff or picnic goodies. Beverages.
Do we make independent fires or share one. If so, wood / charcoal, firelighters needed
    Weather looks to be kind.
PS: Do I need to bring the forum banner?

Any chance of hitching a ride with someone.

I stay in Cotswold Downs. Can meet at the Caltex garage at the entrance to Cotwswold and leave my 4x2 behind. Or even one of the shopping centres in old main road.

Oh ate two 7 ate one 6478

And can I buy a boerie roll from someone.
Please, I have neither the energy nor the ingredients at hand to make a picnic basket right now.

I also know Gwahumbe pretty much like the back of my hand.

    EEK what's that.

    Okay cool,
I will pick Keith up tomorrow.
Unfortunately I have not catered very well so if anyone has a spare boerie roll for Keith that would be great.
Also, it may slightly chilly down by the river so be prepared just in case.

There is normally a fair size braai at the picnic site but I will throw in my camping braai too just in case we need extra space.
