    Default Nissan Patrol 5.6

I got my first Nissan a week or so ago and I haven't seen much about the 5.6 on the forum so will start a thread and update now and again.

Its a 2019 Patrol 5.6v8 LE Premium with around 90k km.

    Likes:
That motor and gearbox combo works great, effortless power and the ability to pull her skirts up when you floor it.
The drive is very good as well, closer to the German SUVs.
The finishing quality of the vehicle feels premium, everything is either leather or soft touch except for the tons of fake wood
Lots of space, it makes the 200 seem small in comparison, it is a larger vehicle but I think the dash design differences also has a lot to do with it.
It has all the mod cons/ safety tech and luckily you can turn it all off as well.
It is so ugly that I think its a thing of beauty.

    Unsure:
It doesn't give me that bush/trail ready feeling that the 200 has, but I reckon with the same mods it will get there.

    Dislikes:
The infotainment is very dated and the camera/s quality is pretty much unusable.

Did I mention the motor yet?

Nice! congratulations. A large Japanese non aspirated V8 is probably the most reliable power train out there.

How big is the fuel tank ?

Congrats. Many safe and happy miles....

Granted, us old Y60 / Y61 owners feel very much like the Defender owners vs the Pretenders, but the Y62 is a great vehicle...

I don't know much about them. Believe they are very capable stock (as most Patrols are). Dunes you will eat anything else.

Details on suspension upgrades etc have recently been posted on patrol4x4.co.za - I'll find the link.

    Nice one Jean.

Out of interest, what made you go for the Patrol?

I know he is like me... and his first 5 words in his post gave the exact reason away. He hasn't had one yet 😊

    Congrats. Many happy miles.

You can upgrade the infotainment. The video below is a facelift Y62, but I've seen it for your shape, too.

In the interest of transparency, I must disclose that my real name is Anakin Skywalker. I hail from the planet Tatooine. When I am not piloting my Imperial Class Destroyer, a magnificent vessel that perfectly complements my malignant narcissism, I drive a Nissan Patrol, a Japanese automobile from Planet Earth that certainly grounds me in many, many ways.

I've always liked the Patrol, I still want to own a 4.2l petrol box shape one in green when I'm big one day.

On this one I was looking at it and a gladiator at the same dealer, this one is like new inside and out, the headrest screens still had its plastic on and the earphones has never been used for example.

The Jeep already had issues with only 45k km on and after giving the 5.6 some beans on the highway my mind was made up to take the Patrol.

    Station wagon.

Not an SUV. SUV are lesser vehicles.

A Paj is an SUV. A Patrol is a wagon.
