    Default Shisa Eco-briquettes

So as a follow on from the Winter is coming thread, over the next couple of months we are going to be doing a soft launch into the South African market. This thread will be updated when new retail outlets become available over time.

For people looking at larger orders of 50 bags or more in Gauteng please get in touch on the details below. Until a more solid retail network has been established we will take deliveries to Gauteng ourselves.

Would you mind just mentioning again where we can buy one or two bags here in JHB to try out?

    Hi Jade

We are currently finalizing a distributor in Cape Town area and warehousing space. I am hoping it will all be in place in the next month.

Excellent, please update on this thread, I think its a great idea and I am sick of getting a bunch of charcoal powder and tiny chunks for charcoal at the moment and hate paying the Woolworths premium for their charcoal, which is also excellent.

My only gripe with this stuff is when I take it with on a 4x4 or camp trip, people are always saying "this stuff is great, where do you get it? "

And then I have to explain what it's made from, why it burns so nice, and where to get it.

    Hi PJ

Things are progressing, however a lot slower than I would like in getting our product into the coastal regions. We are now working with two large retail outlets to take it further for us.

Was really good to meet you this morning at you briquette plant and thanks for the interesting chat about your product.

I'm in Durban - that's on the coast

Edit - you are in a very difficult and competitive market.

Down here every supermarket and garage have stock levels at saturation level.

Hell, I probably have a stock of 1 ton of Sekelbos that I bought form harteis.

Looking from the outside it is definitely a very competitive and saturated market. Even more so in South Africa where people are extremely price orientated. However we do have a couple of USP's and the interest and volumes we are now exporting support that theory. We have a few retailers who are pushing for the product due to it being a fully renewable resource, however these deals and negotiations take time.
