Looking at options, why do we not see more of these?

Wondering the same, also looking at options to "upgrade" to, kind of like these types where you are sleeping inside a solid structure and not half a tent.

Looking at the market it's only Adventure Xtreme, Outbound Storm and Sprite Tourer SW that are more or less similar

I would suspect price of the 'van, then the towing rig, then the fuel consumption
and practicality of it - would you do 3rd bridge with that in tow ?

I am on my second 2nd Extreme the 1st one was the smaller Spartan @ 880kg tara this one is their top of the range Samurai model @ 1060 kg tara. Trying to keep wife happy with inside toilet and shower.
I think they presend good value for money, it come standard with 370w solar panel Victron charging system with 200 a/h Lithium battery, Hanson 220v/gas geyser system and 270 well made easy to put-up awning. More that 2 people will ever need in cupboards and storage space. When i bought mine, they were less than R500 000 and all above std equipment was options on more well known brands.
I agree, i won't attempt serious off-road trails with it, but i will take it wherever i am willing to take my car. Saying that, it has some of the best ground clearance i have seen in this type of van, with a great departure angle.
It's also a really easy tow with my Jeep, as its not much higher. Fuel consumption is no different from his lighter and smaller brother. I have averaged just over 13l/100km on a return trip from Parys to the Bull Run in the Karoo (Van Wyksvlei), sure it will differ from car to car and terrain. Click image for larger version.

It even came with good tyres, i think, and with movers on still good ground clearance. Click image for larger version.
