Default snowmaster fridge cooling on 220v but not 12 volt

    Hi All

My snowmaster fridge cools on 220v but when plugged in on 12 volt stops cooling. What could be the problem. Thanks

Snowmaster's Head Office and factory outlet is in Edenvale, off the R24 about 2km past OR Tambo Airport.

Bring it to them to resolve. They are nice reasonable people and should resolve it for you in next to no time. Perhaps just a connection or a small component failure...

    Check the 12v fuse.
Had the same problem. New fuse problem solved.

    Apologies if hijacking this thread.
I have the same with a 20-something year old Engel.
I am told it is the PC board that is faulty, and the fridge is obsolete and parts no longer available - any ideas?

    I would do the following.

    1. Check the battery or try another battery.

    2. Set the voltage cut-off to 10.5v

    3. Check all fuses and connections.

    4. Then take it to Snomaster or Johan Prinsloo (he is in Lynnwood)

I had the same problem with my snomaster.
It was my own fault, tried to run it from a 12v generator which spiked and cooked the transformer.
Contacted Snomaster direct who were very helpful and supplied me with a replacement transformer which I was able to replace fairly easily.

Hi Pieter. I had the same problems a couple of years ago and Snomaster could not fix it initially. There specialist technical person solved the problem. Drop the battery protection to the lowest possible and change the cooling to Auto. Since then the fridge worker perfect in Kalagadi. You can run a test at home by plugging the fridge into a 12v source. Good luck.

The only thing that is not fixable is a gas leak within the walls.
