Default Garmin BaseCamp Route Planning Refresher Training (April 2024)

Saturday 20 April 2024 18:00-20:00. MS Teams link will be emailed to all interested parties.

    Hi everybody,

From another thread it looks like there may be some guys who would be interested in another Teams session on using Basecamp for route planning and whatever else we have time for.

I was thinking perhaps in April some time. For me a Saturday would work best. I suppose any time, but perhaps it will suite more people if it is in the evening, say 18:00 - 20:00 or something. It could be less, but time usually flies.

Let me know here if you would be interested. As soon as we have 2 or 3 people, we can fix a date and who ever would like to join can join.

PS. If you guys would like to come to Hermanus, we can have a live session. A venue should not be a problem. HaHaHa.

You can reply here if you are interested but will have to send me your email for the Teams invite also.

    Cheers.

I was thinking of doing the session on a Saturday evening around 18:00. Although a Friday could also work. So it could then be around 13, 20 or 27 April. Do you have any preference or should I just choose a date?

I have found a lot of varying advice on PC and tests etc. Disturbingly so.

From research and discussion. Many quote figures of 0.2 and 0.5 for PSA after prostatectomy and radiation resp, and many also follow the PSA doubling time and nadir, keeping the whole history in mind.

I think everyone is unique but I also feel that there is a huge difference of opinion out there amongst the experts, especially in RSA. It is not unusual to pose questions that test even their experience. Especially the "camps" of cures out there - prostatectomy or radiation.

This is disturbing indeed and makes it essential to do enough research and reflection to at least question your case with your team. The team could include GP urologist and oncologist.

It is difficult to keep these folk advising you as a team after you have started a treatment methodology or regimen, especially if following systemic treatment. The urologist will take the lead and not all of them caucus their cases in local expert forums - at least that is what I find.

PC is a journey and I do not think that it is a one off diagnosis and treatment, except in very simple cases of say good clear MRI and gleason 6 diagnosis with low tumour burden say.

One would also see them in short sessions from time to time - they are busy and cannot often accommodate more.

Recently attended a PC support forum for the first time and the variety of treatments discussed between the participants from USA, Canada, UK, Scandinavia, RSA, Aussie and NZ was spookie. I really disagreed with some of the report backs from some guys on their treatments and outcomes.

Interested in what u guys think?
