The reason why I am so nervous is that I found a dead baby Rinkhals in the yard and then caught one on its way into the garage.

School friend of mine who catches snakes part time as a hobby was called to remove one from the security hut at a Life hospital in Jhb the other day.

I would pay good money to see the CCTV footage showing when they discovered it.

I am quite surprised to see how many and what type of snakes he catches all over Jhb in populated areas. KZN I would still expect it but a Rinkhals inside a big Jhb hospital?
In the interest of transparency, I must disclose that my real name is Anakin Skywalker. I hail from the planet Tatooine. When I am not piloting my Imperial Class Destroyer, a magnificent vessel that perfectly complements my malignant narcissism, I drive a Nissan Patrol, a Japanese automobile from Planet Earth that certainly grounds me in many, many ways.

Now you made me go and look twice. I have (what I believed to be) gecko droppings in my garage. (See pic)

All this talk of white tip and snake gives me the hibbie jibbies. But Google also says gecko. (And I have seen the gecko, just haven't seen it take a dump)Click image for larger version.

They're quite abundant here on the highveld. I've got better at removing puff adders but Rinkhals can spit which makes me nervous and are, I'm assuming a little harder to catch for an untrained person. The baby rinkhals was ok, it tried more to get away and hide than stand and spit. Not so sure a big one will do the same if cornered.

From unfortunate experience, that looks like rat that eats rubber and plastic. Pay close attention to your engine bay and telltale signs of nibbling or urine.

Just to be totally different. That seems very dry. Snake poo is more juicy and will have the white stuff with it.Break it open and if it is full of little bones I would think it to be the regurgitated pellet of an owl

Owl pellets contain mostly rodent hair, clearly visible by just looking at it. I stand by skink poo.
