    Every day is a school day. That's very interesting. I enjoy birding and one of the challenges is knowing the different seasonal, and mating, plumage. Intriguing that butterflies do the same. Is it also breeding or a camouflage?

    Yes a Scarlet Tip but the correct scientific name is Colotis annae annae. Very nice specimen!

    Colotis danae is very simmilar but occurs Kenya Somalia area.

    One that is pleasing on the eye: Graphium policenes policenes - Small Striped Swordtail
    Mostly Natal East Coast but occurs right up in Zambia and Angola. This photo was taken at Kalumbila in North West Zambia.
    I have seen them fluttering around here in the Katanga but do not have photographic evidence.
