Default NL Fridge Freezer 72L dual compartment or 90L one lid

We are looking at buying a NL Fridge Freezer, and wondered if having the larger capacity 90L with single lid is better over the 72L dual lidded? Does the single lid cause an issue with the freezer part, when opening to access the fridge compartment? Both being the same outer dimensions
Thanks in advance for any advice

Will probably be crucified for the following...

Having had both and loving the space/lay-out of the 90L - I would really advise going the 72/74L way - the construction and reliability seems be better on the dual door-unit.

My brother's brand new 90L Legacy Smart that was not even a year old in December gave issues not reaching below zero after running for numerous days....

If you take a single compartment, you will definitely be adding a cooler-box to the configuration as well. Space? Additional management?

I have had the 90lt Dual Door NL since their launch. I also had the 72lt Dual Door version since that model's launch, which i sold for the bigger version. I got it the 90lt for around R11500 as a launch special price. I particularly enjoy the extra fridge space. The freezer is much the same size, both are maybe 40mm deeper, if my memory serves me correctly.

I had the 72lt one for about ten years and had it serviced once because the lid rubbers became tatty and needed replacement, not any other issues . The small fridge compartment always irritated me though.

The 90 lt must also be about 8 or 10 years old now, absolutely no issues apart from the slider graunching up the 12v cable. I got a new one directly from National Luna at their factory in Edenvale.

The 90lt one has thinner insulation, hence the extra space, so the 72lt is the better option if you camping in one place for longer, but I have never had an issue with the lesser insulation as I stay at any one place for 2 days max, then I move along. The alternator then keeps the LiFePo2 battery strong for running the compressor slightly more often.
