I am running a RPI ZERO W - Very elegant cheap solution as the Kodak USB can power the ZERO, so no extra cables and power supplies.
small and discrete hidden in the trunking.

Hang on, but there is no cable installed from the PI to the battery as Hannes confirmed?

Also, if it is a PI3/4 then it has more than USB port.

What is the USB hub for?

No cable yet - the pics are my installation.

Even if you have more than one USB port the software only uses (Can only use one.) AFAIK. Certainly on the ZERO.
    But it makes no difference.

Just like a Laptops USB is only connected to one USB port it can have many devices via a cheap hub.

The hub is to have a USB connection to the Inverter and a separate physical and virtual connection to the Battery.

You can see this in the config pics.

I will take pics on the morrow.

I have Pi4's coming out of my ears.

I have it running on the 3B+, and two ports are used on the PI for battery and inverter cables.

I am not sure which model Hannes is running, but as he does not have a battery cable installed only the PI should be connected.

USB to mini Hdmi to Inverter.

There is an open USB port.

Will have to check what cable must plug into battery

I will get a hub for incase and then just make sure what cable

Aha - SA software is obviously clever enough to recognise Pi Zero and use virtual Ports.

Or maybe I just did it that way because -- dunno. The interface cables where all USB A size ??

If you look at my config ports everything is connected to USB0.

ZERO only has one USB port - the other one that looks like a USB is only power.

First check this list and make sure that Solar Assistant can talk to your battery, if it is not on the list then use emulated BMS.

I don't see the Nenergy on the list but won't it still need a cable to talk to battery?

In that case I would select Emulated BMS. If the battery is not specifically listed/support then it means it will not know what language to talk to the battery and won't connect. (The cable will probably be a RS485-USB cable, but the protocol/language is the stumbling block.)

Area outage for 4 hours already and everything is working as it should.

Now just hoping we get through the 2 hours before our PV kicks in at 8h45.

Nice to see you have managed to post stats not taken by a phone and where one can reference the graph to Solar, Soc, Current etc. .

I'm going to risk saying that your battery falling over at 50% is due to an average reading of voltage across all cells but there is probably an unbalanced cell reading much lower than the average and the BMS cuts the battery when the lowest cell reaches the Voltage limit.

The cell would need to be fairly out of of whack by 30% or more to trigger the battery shutdown.

Any feedback on the battery you're having tested and the cell condition?

Do you have one or two batteries currently connected to the inverter?
A two day exercise.., but perhaps connect only one battery at a time and check if it plays out the same. Perhaps one of them are the cause of the premature shut down and you can isolate the dodgy battery?

If both fail after at 50% Soc after the test, then I'm stumped.

    A busy few days.

I have not done anything about anything Solar related.

By the time I crawled into bed at 4 am this morning, after my neighborhood watch patrol, I had been up for 23 hours since 5 am Sunday. Today after 3 hours sleep I had a busy day and now getting ready for two intense meetings tonight.

Tomorrow I hope to connect the second inverter to its own pi and there is even more issues than here.

Some interesting trends are developing here.

1 big loads during borehole pumping especially top up after dark should be eliminated.

    2 regular outages are visible
