Default Getting the adrenaline pumping again...

My last 4 bikes was a Stelvio, VStrom, Varadero and Multistrada. All big V-twins with great torque and the ability to put a grin on my face.

Something was lacking and it took me a while to identify the problem - too little power.

So over the new year I bought a Blackbird - a pristine 1998 carb model with an Airage pipe. Still blown away by how solid it feels. It steers, tracks, shifts and brakes like a bike a year or two old, not a 25 year old bike.

And most of the 160 horses is still around - the Blackbird is still a hyperbike with acceleration too match. Yesterday as I merged onto the R21 I picked up a new M4 and it was a fun run up to %^&km/h. And the pipe sounds amazing.

    I am happy...

Die Blackbirds wat ek na gekyk het het almal hulle myle baie goed gedra.

Teen R48k was hierdie 'n winskopie.

    Congrats!

I am a huge fan of the Blackbird, have always loved them.

With the outputs of bikes today 160hp doesn't seem as stratospheric as it did back in the day with nakeds now sporting similar power.

That is true, most of the modern bikes have the same of more power.

I looked at a few Busas and ZX14's, but at my age the BB has enough power and, to my subjective eyes, is MUCH prettier than the other two.

For sure, I could never get a proper liking of the jelly mould styling of the 'Busa.

ZX14 was better looking, but the BB was a firm favourite.
