    Default Everest Ltd Wheel Options

    Morning,

Anyone know what wheel sizes fit the 2018 Limited (R20/265 standard wheel)
I'm thinking of getting a R17 or R18 "off-road" set to keep around for camping trips.

    Thanks

18" Should fit without issues. I am not sure regarding 17", although I think the XLS came out with that size rim, and I doubt the brake sizes differ between the models.

Well, if you look nicely, you can spec your vehicle in that link.
This will then give you the specs and requirements for the wheels that will fit your vehicle.
And all those wheels in that link have size options mentioned there, and this indicates the sizes that will fit to said vehicle.

Taking into account that a base speck Ranger and that you can option the Everest with 17 o 18-inch wheels then you can probably fit any of those sizes mentioned in that link.

You did mention wheel, not tyre...

Edit: Sorry, the actual link I copied already had your vehicle spec'd but for some reason the link was changed back to "home" when it was posted.

I changed to 18's within a week of purchase. Tiger Wheel and Tyre bought my 20's and tyres and we made a great deal for both of us. I have had no issues with the rims or tyres. We have done a few bush trips and also quite a lot of touring. Will live in a farming area with many gravel roads.

Switching to smaller wheels for off-road use is a great idea, especially for camping trips where you might encounter rougher terrain. I went through a similar decision for my SUV last year. After some research, I opted for R17 wheels because they offer a good balance of comfort and durability for off-roading without compromising too much on the vehicle's original handling characteristics.

I found some helpful guides on a site called Wheel And Tire Pros that really simplified the decision-making process. They had detailed comparisons and fitment guides which showed what sizes would work with my specific vehicle model without needing modifications. This information was super helpful and made me feel more confident in choosing the right wheels.

When I bought my '22 model Everest Limited last year I specifically bought one with 18" wheels. AFAIK Ford brought them out with either 20" or 18" wheels. The spare, however, is on a steel rim with a 17" tyre on. This means that I cannot rotate the spare with the other wheels every 10 000km and that the spare is still brand new.

I have just bought a new alloy rim from Ford that I will put an 18" tyre on and use as a spare, so I will have a brand new wheel (steel rim and 17" tyre) available for sale one of these days. For me it just does not make sense to have a different size wheel as a spare, although the circumference will be the same as the other tyres.

You can go down to a 16" as that will still clear the caliper

if you fit a 17" wheel then the tire needs to be 265/65r17 (standard fitment on the xlt) and 18 your need to fit 265/60r18 (standard fitment on the wildtrak) if you want to keep the standard rolling circumference of the 20" on your everest.

common fitment on both the 17" and 18" is 265/70r17 or 265/65r18 as it looks better, more sidewall and its not that much bigger to influence power and fuel consumption by much

Next-Gen Wildtrak runs 255/65/R18. Did they change between the generations?

AFAIK they did, yes. All previous Gen Rangers XLT and Wildtrak, and Everest's came fitted with 265 as standard.

Saw a 2022 everest LTD rocking Black Rhino 16 inch rims at a shopping square in northcliff a week ago.

My girlfriend was a bit upset that I went up the car to go investigate, nit minding my own business.

It had a set of 265/75/R16 all terrains on, and looked MEAN.

I think 16 inch rims would be best for offroading and touring. Generally you won't struggle to find tyre replacements in that size and to top it all off, the tyres are cheaper if they have to go on a smaller rim!

The owner said that they haven't noticed any changes in road handling, other than that typical of going from highway terrain to all-terrain.
