    Default Holiday and rugged camera

    Hi All

Iím struggling to decide on a good waterproof holiday camera. With smartphones getting better; I havenít used my SLR in a while on holiday. However going to the beach or travelling is not always ideal for a smartphone camera. I am looking for a compact and rugged device that I canít take anywhere without worrying that it will get damaged

I have a short list but canít make a decision
    Kodak PIXPRO WPZ2
    GoPro Hero 9 Black

Akaso Brave 7 or Brave 7LE

In typical Forum fashion I shall suggest something else: https://www.ormsdirect.co.za/product...MaAskREALw_wcB

I have the Fuji version, fine underwater but above ground not so much and definitely not as rugged.

AFAIK the GoPro is more just video from which you can take still shot-grabs, but I might be wrong.

Yup thatís a good option but steep on price

The options I suggest are under $200 on Amazon so a third of the camera you suggested

I just bought one of these off market place for R1500.
    Still brand new.

Played around at home, cellphone vs canon, you simply can't compare. Especially on zoom, video.

It's not rugged but for what I paid, perfect travel point and shoot, and it's got WiFi.

    GoPro does video & stills.

For sheer ruggedness nothing really like a GoPro. My Hero 3 + now 12 years old and does duty underwater, on the MX bike handlebars etc, etc and just keeps going.

Also consider a Dji Osmo Action.
