    Default Stainless Steel cookware

Any recommendations on quality Stainless Steel cookware?
I find stainless is so easy to clean and less hassle.

My stainless steel cookware are mostly Brabantia. Not sure how Brabantia quality is these days, mine are around 25 years old.

I also have a small saucepan from @Home which feels heavier than the Brabantias. Then there are two Aloe cookware pots, I think bought from Makro, with our wedding money. They had bacalite handles, but my husband removed the handles because they cracked with age and did not do so well in the oven.

I think Brabantia is about mid range. There must be much better quality brands out there now. But you will get what you pay for.

Not familiar with the brand, but these looks darned nice. The seam of the bottom with the pot looks very tight and neat. That is very important for longevity.

The best I have seen in the US was All Clad which is not sold in SA.

You can buy spares for AMC, even the screws fixing the handles.

Our AMC have stood up well. But so have other SS items.

One thing I do look at when buying kitchen items is the ease of cleaning. For instance, square corners are more difficult to clean than rounded ones.

The handles on AMC products, where they attach to the item, need some additional attention when cleaning and the gap between the lip of the pot, handles and handle attachment is tight.

It doesnt affect their performance but I have seen (have) other makes where more thought was given to cleaning.

… agree w ease of cleaning, rounded handles etc and furthermore recommend always using cloths or a brush to wash if practical, failing which fibre scourer or, at most extreme, copper wool scourer …never steel wool.
Also go for pans with thick floors that wont warp and ss ‘monocoque’ handles that will stand up to flames on gas stoves etc… even if one then needs a cloth or gloves to hold, lift, handle etc.
We use stainless steamer towers more than
our standard pans and also very often turn to use Cast Iron for Frying and Stews … as prepared and maintained cast iron we find cleans surprisingly easily under fibre or copper wool scourers.
Cast Iron also holds the food warm longer,
saving on intermediate server dishes , additional washing etc.

We have several of their D5 range of pots and pans. Seriously good stuff that can take a battering. Cleans easily with barkeepers friend.
Easily imported via amazon, at a price of course…
