    Die ding waaroor ek die spytste is, is dat my ouma 1991 die tydige met die ewige verwissel het, met die resep in haar kop. Sy het altyd brawn gemaak van lammerpere. Die lekkerste lekker ooit. O, en deesdae gebruik seker de laaste skaapboer rekkies, wat die oes natuurlik summier stop.

    You forgot Oxtail, sheep tails, trotters ... Ok maybe I', me getting a bit OT here.

    BUT I DO DRAW the LINE before - Brains, Offal etc.
    Some exceptions being Kidneys, Liver ...

    Stem saam is heerlik. Ek haal dit dan uit verwyder die vel en sit dan terug in die sous en prut in stoompot vir 15 min sit af en laat staan dan weer so 15 min in sous. Die tong absorbeer dan van die sous

    As my oupa nou hierdie gelees het en dit was nie naby Kersfees,, sou hy iets gese het soos "Sjoe, raak ek nou sommer lus vir 'n begrafnes".

    Ek het gebraai in botter nog nie probeer, sal defnitief moet.
    Saam / op brood is dag na Kersfees se kos.

    Ek onthou as my ouma die tonge koud gemaak en later gesny het, was daar erens 'n baksteen betrokke om die regte vorm te kry of so iets, maar ek kan nie die storie lekker onthou.

    I had it by chance, at a Porra function, sliced thin in a sauce with onions. I thought it was a version of prego steak and slapped it in a bun.

    Not bad. Texture was strange, lighting was low. I asked the First Wife what she thought of the prego, she said it was okay but a bit tough. I laughed inside to myself, discretion being the better part of valor.

    Having been based in China, not being able to read the lingo and pointing at either the menu or the cage/tank when ordering, I will give anything that moves a go

    I don't get toung nearly often enough!

    Vir die tong eters, hier is 'n mostert affêring wat goed daarmee gaan. Dit dateer uit die Tupperware era so was altyd in 'n groot tupperware ringvorm gemaak. Ek dink mens kan dit in enige iets maak, veral as jy dit nie wil vertoon nie en dus nie hoef uit te haal uit die sethouer nie. Anders sal enige jellievorm of silikonvorm werk.



    MOSTERTRING

    4 eiers
    125ml asyn
    15ml gelatine korrels
    2ml borrie
    250ml room
    250ml warm water
    175ml suiker
    15ml mostertpoeier
    1ml sout

    Klits eiers, water en asyn. Voeg suiker, gelatien , mostert, sout en borrie by. Mikrogolf by 80% krag tot dik ± 10 minute.. Roer dikwels. Laat afkoel.
    Roer kort-kort om velvorming te voorkom.
    Klop room. Voeg by mostertmengsel. Gooi uit in ringvorm en laat stol.

    Hierdie resep is baie oud, so ek dink die 80% krag vir die mikrogolf was seker voordat mikrogolwe nog 'n 1000w bereik het in die dae toe hulle nog analoog met faux hout veneer was met knoppies wat gelyk het of dit op 'n hoëtroustelsel hoort. So maak die nodige aanpassings vir jou huidige mikrogolf of doen dit op die stoof op 'n lae of medium lae hitte. Apply ze not so common sense.

    Ek gaan nie die tyd neem om dit te vertaal nie. Iemand anders is welkom om dit te doen.
