    Dit is soos om biltong in die yskas te h. Elke keer as jy vebyloop vat jy 'n bietjie. As jy weer kyk is dit klaar.

    Daar is baie maniere om tong te eet en te geur. Mosterd is altyd 'n wenner.

    My gusteling vir ontbyt is bruin gebraai in botter.



    En dan saam met 'n sny brood of twee.

    Dit maak ook 'n baie lekker patee, saam met skaaplewer, botter, mosterd, basillie kruid en bietjie chillie poeier.

    Nee wat, ek sal al hierdie tong resepte maar 'n mis gee......

    Dis soos die oumense gese het --- "Al dra 'n aap 'n goue ring, bly hy maar 'n lelike ding" , dieselfde met beestong!!

    Dit bly maar vir my interessant hoe mense oor kosse verskil. Daar is byna niks wat ek nie eet nie. Beestong, afval lewer, niertjies, ens is vir my koningskos! Moet net reg gaargemaak wees! As jy oor alles wil dink oor waar dit vandaan kom of wat die funksie oorspronkik was, sal jy waarskynlik net groente eet!

    Reg gaar gemaak.
    Ongelukkig is baie van die lekker resepte saam met voorsate graf toe.

    My Ouma used to boil, then when she could afford it, she used a pressure cooker.

    As a kid I could never understand how something so ugly, could taste so lekker.

    The only time I get to have it, is when I visit my folks in CPT, Dad cooks. Now showing Swambo this thread, she tells me she loves it, after 8 yrs together.

    Guess I am doing a tester in the slow cooker, before Xmas.

    Wat jy dan doen, is doen dit met pan (soos hierbo).


    Voor sommige Kersfees naweke kom ons onder die familie ooreen oor by wie se plaas ons die Kers partytjie hou, en wie bring wat. Een familie lid het dan altyd tong gebring van die slaghuis, klaar voorberei, dun gesny, dat dit soos ham of salami stukke lyk.

    Mens het dan die koue tong ("ham") eenvoudig op 'n broodjie gesit, wat gesmeer is met knoffel botter, of ouma se soet-suur mosterd, of selfs appelkoos konfyt. Dis hoe almal se smaak verskil het.

    Genoeg om te se, die tong vleis was altyd die vinnigste opge-eet.


    Terloops, ek deel sommer die "ouma se mosterd" resep ook hier. Dit kan 'n romerig tot growwe tekstuur he, met 'n soet-tot-suur smaak het, wat perfek pas by die tong vleis.

    My wederhelf hou glo nie van tong nie....tot ons eendag saam met vriende kuier en broodjies maak. Erens gryp sy my toebie, eet 'n paar happe en s nogal hoe lekker dit is. Nodeloos om te s toe sy uitvind wat dit is toe is dit skielik sleg.

    Ek koop sommer 'n gaar tong, dis darem baie gerieflik.

    Ja, ken ook koue beestong as Krismiskos.

    Beesstert maak van die lekkerste poitjiekos.

    Vars boklewer met uie en room in 'n pan gebraai in die jagveld is koningskos.

    Skilpaadjies (lewer in netvet) of Pofadder (lewer en spek in 'n verderm), lewer, niertjies en verderm blokkies in suursous (suurkos), alles absolute koningskos.

    Omgedopte vetderm in vet gebraai tot crispy. Heetlik - heerlik.

    Oooo en kaangs.

    Mal oor skaapafal en veral die breins is my heerlik.

    Het al gebakte skaapkop en gebakte Springbok kop get.

    Ek trek egter die streep by skaap peertjies (sweet bread).
