He has a point. Maybe they shouldn’t have done the donuts.

Loved the famous saffer overlander tv program as well, untill the son of bossman took a side by side and did donuts on the makgadigadi pans.

To be fair, 20 Hiluxes racing through the wilderness like that would cause a bit of damage.

And most people here would throw a tantrum if they were camping in the wild and that came past.
In the interest of transparency, I must disclose that my real name is Anakin Skywalker. I hail from the planet Tatooine. When I am not piloting my Imperial Class Destroyer, a magnificent vessel that perfectly complements my malignant narcissism, I drive a Nissan Patrol, a Japanese automobile from Planet Earth that certainly grounds me in many, many ways.

Well, I think it isn't responsible driving as portrayed in the advert. NOT the way to drive when in sensitive areas. Imagine all the tracks caused......

So I think they have a point.

There are plenty of ways to advertise how tough, capable and durable a vehicle is without stuffing up the bush.
If this was seen in real life by 99% of the members on here we'd have a 50 page thread going nuts, or at least I hope we would!

Still ridiculous reason to ban an ad. I've seen worse in movies. So maybe we need a censor board where some moron decides what we may see, read or hear? I'm for taking responsibility for my own life and actions. I certainly don't need an incompetent with issues deciding anything for me!

a recent South African hi lux ad during the RWC was also flagged as irresponsible.

some Boks we training and scrummed in rain against the hi lux.

irresponsible part? There was lightning & thunder.

I think they ended up editing it out.

Then nobody should drive cars own houses or wear jewelry. Just have a look how the West Coast of South Africa are being destroyed for the sake of diamonds. I have never seen anybody contesting wearing diamonds, Nothing is more destructive than mining operations.

Then shows like Gold Rush and Aussie mining TV Series are fine.

Not for one moment say the Hilux add is not wrong but really it definitely does less damage than a dozer mining diamonds on the West Coast.
