Then there was 2. Oppies & Checo's dad.......😀😀. No harm meant, could not help myself.
P11 actually equals Checo's ranking in my opinion of where he should be if I had to rate the drivers from 1 to 20.
But, you are quite correct - the rest are catching up - as was to be expected. I am concerned about Ferrari though. Has McLaren leapfrogged them? Could well be.

I've never loved Max, never hated him. But oh my shattered nerves, being nowhere in practice, then again just showing everyone by n considerable margin " f u" in qualy
The man is insanely talented

Only after q3 will I have an opinion.[/QUOTE]
Max did excellent but that was no surprise.
My heart bleeds for my Mercedes who is now an "also ran" and especially Lewis who is second of the " also rans"!
After yesterday's qualifying, im putting this out there .
Max will put the current ferrari and mclaren on pole.
The RB is a slight dog this weekend, the RB didn't put max on pole yesterday, Max put the RB on pole
How do you know max really worked for that pole?

I honestly do not know who is the better racer - Lec or Carlos.
Raw pace, that one goes to Lec. But he has not converted that into success (at least not hugely so).
If Lec can just win 2 or 3 races "he should not have won", Schumi style, I will be a 100% fan.
At this time if I need to rank the drivers it will be:
1. Max (you blokes surprised?)
2. Lando
3. Alonso
4 - 18. Please help me.
19. Empty because,
20. Jointly occupied by Logan & baby Stroll.

I have warmed to Max over the years. His brashness (I believe father inherited) has given way for a more relaxed and personable driver. I think he is becoming his own man and his natural personality it starting to shine through. He has become more sporting and is very gracious in defeat.
We forget that there have been lots of surly drivers. For me, neither Mansell or Senna were great examples of media success, but you could not dispute them on the track where they let their racing do the talking. At time we forget the focus and single mindedness that is required to win at this level.
I think that Schumi and Rossi broke the mold with their approach to the fans and media, they became brands that almost transcended the sport. Rossi in particular almost single handedly saved MotoGP from sliding into relative obscurity.
Seems Charlie lost his qauli mojo, thought p1 had his name on it and Max would pass him in turn 1 during the race..
Hope to see some action between Ferrari & the papaja mercs
Checho will probably move up to at least p6, can Alonso give us some action to finish p10?

Regarding the rant. We get the Sky News feed, British owned and Bristish based. I think the bias, although irritating is understandable.
Some tracks favour some car designs. The tracks differ vastly in terms of speed and complexity, the amount of wing to dial in and the tire wear. Imola is narrow and not the easiest to pass on so pole is critical. The modern car sizes make Imola difficult to pass on. 1/10 split in the top three so this could be a juicy race or a procession to the flag. Lando now knows he can win so he will have a newfound confidence and the McLarens are rather sprightly this weekend. Look like Zack is on it!
A Checo fan boy I am but this weekend was simply not on. We know Max can drive the wheels off the RB unlike Checo but he should have been in the top four. It will be difficult for him to progresses through the field, will take an enormous effort.
Crazy good quali, Max with some lessons in greatness again.
You know quali is tight when the 3 fastest sectors are shared by 3 different drivers, Max had sector 1, Oscar sector 2 and Lando sector 3.
Everyone hyped up Ferrari at the beginning of the weekend, however I somehow think they also won't have crazy race pace, but Oscar's penalty will make things interesting and should make for a good battle between Ferrari and McLaren.
Real petty for Alonso, I think both him and Checo carried some underlying car damage in to quali.
Sometimes still crazy to think Oscar is only in his second season in F1, I'm no F1 historian, which other driver in history could already punch it up with the big boys at the sharp end in only his second season?
Nice to see Visa RB doing well, Yuki putting together a quick one, I really hope they can take the form in to the race and have a good battle with MB.

Before you judge a person, first walk a mile in their shoes.
Been wondering for a while, how do the numbers get assigned in F1?
