Was my first guess as well but I edited it because I think the front and rear prints would be different thus leaving 2 seats of prints.

Do all the tracks have the back "pad" marks? Is it not that something stepped on another previous animals tracks?

Ok, so I spent the last two hours or so checking this print out.

I am going with a baboon/monkey foot print, more specifically maybe the Yellow Baboon.

The four front toes, the middle indent to one side and the heel imprint all match.

Those sharp toe tip imprints are clearly made by claws, which primates do not have.

If you are referring to Papio cynocephalus (Yellow Baboon) then distribution is far off + small claws

This Yellow Baboons nails can probably make claw marks as well.

The spoor was made when the ground was very wet, so it looks a lot bigger than in real life, and the edges are distorted because of the muddiness. There are also extraneous marks about, not necessarily part of the original spoor.
    Caracal is my wild guess.

Yes all have the back mark and the distance between the prints is .5 m on average. I saw no scat so difficult to say. We in all my time in this area have not heard or seen a baboon. I have not seen a honey badger either. What has been seen near the prints is a large rat like animal with bushy tail. I thought otter originally or porcupine. But it must be huge. The back pad has me flummoxed. I am going with the lynx. It would make more sense. We have had a leopard sighting a few years back.
