    Default Camera equipment insurance needed

Our collection of photographic equipment is growing - along with its value. At the moment I have these listed among my "out and about" insurance through Outsurance, and it's bleddy expensive.

Does anyone have recommendations for an insurer who can cover only our photographic stuff for theft and damage, home or on the road?

All risk? Or what kind of damage?

Try these guys. Not sure if they still cover camera equipment on a stand-alone all risk basis, but I have used them before, a number of years ago.

My son has his equipment, valued at close to R100k insured for a very reasonable price with my insurer. If you're interested then DM me and I can send you a link - I don't want to miss out on referral bonus

Mine is insured through Santam. The "Executive" policy insures all-risk items at a fixed amount without having to specify items.

    This is a good option.

Of the insurers we regularly use, MUA, CIB, Cross Country, Howdie, PPS, and Santam all offer this "extended household contents" or "unspecified all risk" cover" on a blanket basis, and would be able cover your photographic equipment as part of a package policy.

Another option is to list all the equipment individually, but choose a maximum value for any single claim, if you don't have all the items out of your home at any one time. Some insurers may be able to accommodate this.
