    Default My Isuzu 3.0 modification thread

    Hi all,

    Recently joined Isuzu family, and this time I’m doing something I wish I did when modifying the BT50: a thread with all the progress.

    Everything will be more of a DIY, so no pro videos or pictures, it will be myself and some friends doing everything on the weekends.

    The car:
    2009 model, Isuzu Dmax 3.0 4JJ1 engine, 5 speed manual 4x4

    Bought it two weeks back with 200xxx km on the clock.

    Started with some cleaning, will post videos soon !

    Awesome bakkie, wow it looks like half the work is already done! Did you buy it with all those mods?

    Yes; already has exhaust (which I知 modifying to remove the silencer), wheels, suspension etc.
    It has stage 1 ECU Tune also.

    But it値l be more of a street bakkie. I also have a BT50 which was fully modded for 4x4, it has exhaust, intercooler and piping upgrade, ECU tune, hybrid turbo, air filter, 30% nozzles.

    I値l be doing the same performance mods to the Isuzu and we will see what we can get out of the engine.

    As the car has 200xxx km I've decided to start with EGR removal, Intake manifold cleaning and probably I'll be removing the EGR and EGR Cooler.

    1. Remove cover and disconnect Battery

    2 - Disconnect boost/MAP sensor, remove intercooler pipe and remove oil stick and tube:

    Intake manifold still to be removed as I'm just curious with tools and not a mechanic.

    Looks awsome my dad has a 2011 kb300 dteq but 4x4 double cab has a 63mm pipe straight and stage 2+ ecu tune hybrid turbo and front mount intercooler dont like that top one gets all the engine heat glad u got a zuzu welcome to the worlds fastest 3l 4cylinder diesel drag engine the 4jj1
    ISUZU KB300LX DMAX mine / 1.4tdci with software exhaust and intercooler and watermeth injection /dad-kb300 dteq kb5 4x4 /uncle kb300 4x2 dteq kb5 /step dad. Kb6 kb300 4x4 auto all double cabs

    I値l be doing everything myself so if you need any help just let me know.

    I suggest anyone who has a turbo diesel car to clean EGR and intake, it gets really really clogged with carbon deposits with time as you can see in the video.

    If you池e using the car Offroad or specific use as I do, I suggest blanking the EGR also

    Nice man not sure yet he doesnt want to dyno it just yet but our kb300 2018 has 121wkw and 514nms just after a map no other modz

    Plan for last weekend was:
    Remove EGR Cooler and install blanking plates;
    Remove front and rear bumpers
    Remove old intake
    Remove old intake manifold and install high flow intake manifold.

    What I managed to accomplish:
    Remove EGR Cooler and intake, hahah

    EGR Cooler was really difficult to remove.
