    Default DPF removal

I bought a 2018 V6 with 115,000km, fully serviced etc. I mostly drive 100km in the week in town and then every second weekend I take the open road driving about R400KM. As soon as I drive again in town after two days the rev counter jums to 1000rpm.......I guess it is the DPF cleaning cycle. If I do not take a long drive within three weeks I get the DPF light after which I have to take the open road and drive hard to clean the DPF.

Surely this is wasting lots of unneeded kilometers and fuel. For those who have done the DPF removal:

    • Did you have any issues to resolve after the removal?
    • How much was the cost of the removal and software update?
    • Do you have better fuel efficiency?
    • Does the bakkie drive louder?
    • Does the engine have more power?
    • How long has it been since you did the DPF removal?
    • Must one also do the EGR delete when you do the DPF removal?

    Thanks a lot

Not really to answer the OP questions, but still interesting though

The typical consensus/advice on the forum is to remove the DPF and fit a free-flow exhaust, thus liberating more bhp

See this YouTube video, their results show no benefit in removing the DPF

On the other hand, by removing the DPF and fitting a free-flow the EGT's should be lower, hence you can ad more fuel and that should in theory lead to more power

They just removed the DPF and did not adjust any fueling

I need some advice not clued up about engines. I'm about to have the CAT removed from my Pathfinder 2.4 Diesel. Should I have them remove the DPF at the same time?

Watch this and see the difference the dpf makes with regards to emissions.

If you choose to buy a diesel vehicle, then you should be responsible enough to keep it within manufacturers specs, especially with regards to emissions.

    Hopefully the link works.

Custom Tuning has removed the DPF. I can feel the improved performance and my consumption has reduced as well. No more limp mode either .

Does anyone know if the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in this country comes with DPF? How to know if it does or does not?
